Patricia and Mark

Story

Hoping to escape the hustle and bustle of city life in Birmingham, Patricia and Mark were looking for a holiday home in Somerset to eventually retire to with their beloved Border-Collie, Troy. However, whilst Patricia dreamt of a holiday home by the sea, Mark yearned for the open space and freedom the countryside had to offer.

With a budget of £200,000 their requirements included a minimum of 2 bedrooms, outside space and parking.

Result

In this battle, it was a character cottage in the countryside village of Cheddar that caught their eye. On the market for £210,000, this cottage was beautiful inside and out. With a large kitchen/diner, period features throughout and a reception room with a log burning fire, this property was almost perfect.

The lack of outside space was the only downfall, however, seeing the potential to create a small open-air area on the side for Troy, Patricia and Mark were willing to compromise. Going slightly over budget, Patricia and Mark made an offer of £205,000 for this property and their offer was accepted.
