Alex and Emma

Story

Geography teacher Alex and languages teacher Emma met through their jobs five years ago. Working for a boarding school, this couple spend term-time working and living in a flat on campus in Eastbourne. However, with a baby on the way, Alex and Emma were excited to buy a property that they could escape to and enjoy during the school holidays.

However, whilst they could agree that the Isle of Wight was the perfect region, they couldn’t agree on the exact location. Alex had many fond memories of seaside holidays on the Isle of Wight and dreamt of creating the same memories with their firstborn by moving to the coast. Emma, on the other hand, had her sights set on a property surrounded by the peace and quiet of the countryside.

With a budget of £450,000 their requirements included a minimum of 3 bedrooms, a large kitchen and a large garden.

Result

In this battle, it was country that took the trophy. Alex and Emma were swayed by a beautiful semi-detached character cottage in the village of Carisbrooke, on the market for £415,000. This property was perfect for the couple, offering ample space with 3 bedrooms, separate dining and living areas and a large garden with a summerhouse. They were delighted to offer £401,000 for this perfect family home and the vendor accepted.
